Description
Explore the largest reserve of primary jungle on the Azuero Peninsula of Panama with this 3 day adventure that includes 2 nights camping in Cerro Hoya National Park. Hike up mountain ridgelines into the cloud forest where we can see endemic species of plants and animals as well as several rare and endangered species. Summit Cerro Pirri for spectacular views of the national park and coastline at 1300m above sea level.

*We suggest spending at least two nights in Cambutal to settle before and after your adventure. We work with several hotels and would be happy to help you reserve your stay with one of them.

Packing:
Comfortable hiking shoes, comfortable hiking clothes, light long pants for the evenings, bathing suits, rain jacket/poncho, mosquito repellent and sunscreen. A hat, sunglasses and long sleeve sun shirts are recommended.

Itinerary
Day 1: Early Morning Boat Trip to Cerro Hoya
We'll pick you up from your hotel room in the early morning and provide a light breakfast and coffee at the port while we wait for our boat. We'll then head out on a beautiful morning boat ride to our satellite location at the foothills of Cerro Hoya National Park. On the way, we can see marine life like whales, turtles, marlin, and tuna. Once we arrive we get situated and head out to the Basecamp. We have lunch on the trail and reach basecamp by early afternoon to relax after the days hike. Explore the surrounding area and have a campfire dinner.
Day 2: Cerro Pirri Summit
Rise before the sun and head up to watch the magical sunrise from the Cerro Pirri summit. We’ll make our way back down to basecamp where breakfast and coffee will be waiting. We have the day to explore the primary forest and watershed surrounding basecamp ad end the evening around the campfire.
Day 3: Head back to Cambutal
Early rise, enjoying the morning. Have a light breakfast before packing up and heading back down the mountain. Once we reach the coast, our captain will be waiting for us to take us on the boat ride back to Cambutal. Once there you’ll have the afternoon to relax in your hotel or on the beach. We’ll get together for a farewell dinner.
Once we arrive at the port of Los Buzos in Cambutal, we will take you to your hotel.
